This legendary outlaw is said to have killed 21 men, one for every year of his life. Other aliases used were William H. Bonney and Kid Antrim. Shackled with leg-irons and handcuffs, while under guard at the Lincoln County Courthouse, "The Kid" escaped and killed two guards. Three months later after his escape, he was killed by Pat Garret on July 14, 1881, at Fort Summer. Gambler, gunfighter, dentist, John H. Holliday's temper sent many men to their graves. Once saving Wyatt Earp's life in Dodge City, Doc became one of Earp's close friends. Known as the "Law West of the Pecos", Judge Roy Bean tries a gang of horse thieves in front of the courthouse saloon in Langtry, Texas. Justice was swift. The saloonkeeper judge would often recess trials to sell liquor in the courtroom. Sporting long locks of hair and twin Colts, Wild Bill mixed fact with fiction in telling of his dangerous exploits. His life ended when he was shot in the back by Jack McCall while playing poker in Deadwood, Dakota Territory.
